Augmented Reality Research Intern

Position Overview:

Affinity Plus is excited to kick-off our 2024 Summer Internship Program. This program will provide Interns with the opportunity to work within their area of career focus while interacting with teams to expand organizational knowledge. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Augmented Reality Research Intern to conduct research and present a proof of concept leveraging Apple Vision Pro. Augmented Reality Research Intern will work closely with Affinity Plus leadership to explore and coordinate potential use cases for the emerging technology.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on Augmented Reality, including but not limited to Apple Vision Pro, Ray Ban Smart glasses, and other technological trends, and potential financial applications.
  • Analyze research data and prepare a comprehensive report to present to peer and executive management.
  • Create engaging and informative presentation materials using multimedia tools, such as videos, images, and graphics.
  • Identify and evaluate potential AR technology partners and vendors, including software developers and hardware manufacturers, to enhance the research and development of AR applications within the financial sector.
  • Assist in the development of AR training materials and workshops for staff and stakeholders, aiming to increase AR literacy within the organization and highlight potential applications and benefits.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of the AR project's return on investment (ROI) and potential scalability, providing insights into how AR technology can drive value and innovation within the organization.

What we are seeking in an intern:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in a related field, such as computer science, digital media, business administration, or communications.
  • Strong research skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with the augmented reality and virtual reality technologies is a plus.
  • Ability to primarily work remotely and travel to Saint Paul, MN a few times through the ten weeks to set up and test AR hardware, for meetings and collaboration events.
  • Aptitude to work independently as well as part of a team and ability to collaborate with others
  • Time Management skills and the ability to prioritize workload based on department and project needs
  • Flexibility to adapt and succeed in a dynamic environment

 

Workplace Environment:

  • Sitting 90-95% and standing 5-10%
  • Working at a computer 98% of the day
  • Bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, or crouching when appropriate, on occasion
  • Repetitive movements, including but not limited to typing, using a mouse, phones, etc.
  • Lift, carry, push or pull up to approximately up to 20 pounds with or without accommodations

 

Required Work Schedule:

Primarily Monday through Friday business hours with a willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed on evenings or weekends.
