Program Manger Wellness & HIV Center

SUMMARY:

Accountable for administering and overseeing the operational facets of the Wellness Center Program, ensuring seamless integration of preventative and support services with primary care initiatives. Central responsibilities include supervising staff to guarantee optimal program performance and alignment with organizational objectives.

 

Grant-funded:  Continuation of employment is contingent upon continuation of grant funding from year to year. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the administration and supervision of the HIV Program/Wellness Center.  Maintains positive working relationships with NYSDOH AIDS Institute and the federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) coordinating agencies, and program staff to assure positive program outcomes and contractual and work plan compliance.

 

  • Spearhead and direct outreach efforts for (3) critical city council initiatives: Hepatitis-C, PrEP/PEP, and Access to Health. Oversee the implementation of programs within the constraints of the city council budget, ensuring all objectives are achieved effectively.

 

  • Supervise and empower Community Service Liaisons (CSLs) by delegating tasks and roles to align with program goals. Monitor their progress, including hours worked and assignments completed, to maintain accountability and maximize efficiency.

 

  • Coordinate and facilitate team meetings to drive progress towards program objectives. Lead discussions, address challenges, and foster collaboration to ensure smooth execution of initiatives.

 

  • Represent BSFHC Wellness at public advocacy and community organizing events, showcasing exceptional public speaking skills and adept relationship-building capabilities. Act as a key ambassador, promoting the organization's mission and values to diverse stakeholders.

 

  • Develops and submits administrative reports, including: Narcan and monthly narrative report, and responds to inquiries from NYSDOH AIDS Institute BSFHC leadership team. Develops, promotes and maintains bi-directional referral arrangements with community health and human service providers.

 

  • Reports to the Wellness Director to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and strategies, as well as to facilitate effective communication and coordination within the Wellness department.

SKILLS:

  • Extensive and proven expertise in serving individuals affected by HIV/AIDS, with a strong background in behavioral health, harm reduction strategies, and systems of care.
  • Demonstrated track record in contract management, showcasing the ability to effectively negotiate and oversee contractual agreements to achieve programmatic goals.
  • Proficient in working with diverse populations, including but not limited to the unhoused, LGBTQ+ community, and intravenous drug users, demonstrating cultural competence and sensitivity.
  • Exceptional communication, supervision, organization, and program management skills, enabling efficient coordination and delivery of services.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams, leveraging collective strengths to achieve shared objectives.
  • Extensive experience in harm reduction practices, clinical interventions, and health education, with a strong focus on promoting holistic wellness.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of program development, management, and evaluation methodologies, ensuring the implementation of evidence-based practices and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, particularly in database management and Microsoft Suite applications, with a strong preference for experience in electronic health record-keeping systems.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently, adeptly prioritizing goals and objectives while remaining aligned with the organization's mission and values.
