Investment Operations Associate

Description

The Investment Operations Associate role is centered around building and managing investment portfolios for clients of the firm based on their specific goals and targets.  The role may require face to face client interactions from time to time in order to educate clients around portfolio proposals and tactical changes made.  The IOA must have a solid foundational knowledge of portfolio construction and will work in tandem with the lead advisors and service advisors to provide guidance and recommendations within the construct of a holistic financial plan. The role requires learning the firm’s internal investment technology/platform and streamlining the firm’s portfolio management locally.  Ultimately, a successful IOA should elevate the client experience while executing on the investment strategy within client’s financial plans.

 

Responsibilities

Investment Operations

  • Build customized portfolios for client using Signature research list and SMA account options
  • Handle account opening process and account transition process
  • Perform analysis of client outside investment statements, support the transition of assets into the firm platform
  • Be able to articulate to client “gaps” and/or risk return inefficiencies in current investment strategy – and provide recommendations to improve risk adjusted return and accomplish investment goals
  • Monitoring, processing, and follow-up on transfers, initial funding, and ongoing contributions
  • Executing buy and sell orders, rebalancing orders, and maintaining desired asset allocations
  • Perform loss harvesting and block trades for model portfolios
  • Process distribution requests
  • Managing Transition Plans for clients concentrated or embedded gain positions
  • Work within team environment to contribute to firm’s investment direction
  • Evaluate investments for performance
     

Client Services

  • Client communication regarding investment related questions/issues
  • Confirming accepted and logged checks with clients
  • Provide education (when needed) in client meetings alongside lead advisor/service advisor

 

Qualifications

  • Pursuing or currently holds CFA Level 1 
  • Series 63/7 (require within 90 days)
  • Complete CFA Charter within 5 years of start
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrate attention to detail
