About the Position:


This is a Limited Term position which may be extended to 24 months or become permanent.

Under the general direction of the Rebuilding CA Program Manager, the SB 1/IIJA Data Specialist (RDS II) performs research, gathers data, builds reports, schedules report maintenance, and performs statistical work for validating, maintaining, and improving program data for both internal and external distribution to support the successful development and delivery of programs. The incumbent is the technical lead on website maps, data tables, and verification in collaboration with external contractors. In a lead capacity, the incumbent coordinates Geographic Information System (GIS) data collections and validation for project mapping. The incumbent works on improving user interface and developing standard operating procedures and manuals to ensure quality control of the data displayed on rebuildingca.ca.gov. The incumbent maintains internal and external websites and in a lead capacity, collaborates with Information Technology (IT) and with contractors to ensure timely and accurate information is displayed and presented on various websites, including the Rebuildingca.ca.gov website. This work requires coordination and communications with internal and external partners, including Information Technology, Program Project Management, Headquarter Divisions, Districts, and others. The RDS II is also responsible for independently developing and identifying organization and storage solutions for project data, project photos, outputs & outcomes, and accomplishments. The work also requires communication, partnership, and strategic thinking skills, as well as a deep commitment to the department's strategic vision, mission, values, and goals, to provide excellent customer service, and to advance equity through all efforts.
