Investor Relations (IR) Financial Consulting Intern (June-August 2024)
Alpha IR Group (www.alpha-ir.com) is a strategic investor relations consulting firm providing investment community intelligence and positioning strategies to publicly traded companies. Our goal is to help CEO/CFOs of small- and mid-cap companies navigate the cycles of the public financial markets. We are seeking a highly motivated, financial-oriented, strategic thinker that is dedicated to delivering exceptional client service for an Internship position at our downtown Chicago office. This position is a full-time, 40 hours per week role. Our interns work directly with our Analysts, Senior Associates, CEO, and remote colleagues.

Experience & Desired Skills Include:
- Current undergraduate student; pursuing a degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, or Finance
- Previous internship experience desired, preferably in financial services
- Inquisitive, independent thinker with the ability to collaborate with peers, willing to take initiative and ownership of all work and projects assigned
- Detail-oriented, accurate, and thorough in conducting research, analysis, and daily work activities
- Ability to multi-task and successfully complete projects on time, while working independently and/or in group settings
- Previous market research experience desired
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications; advanced Excel skills preferred as successful interns demonstrate a strong comfort level working with and manipulating large data sets
- Familiarity with financial market data products and software preferred, such as Bloomberg, Factset, Ipreo, CapitalIQ, or Alphasense
- A self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Gain investor relations and capital markets knowledge through proactive financial research and project support
- Become proficient in firm processes and procedures, including primary data products, tools, and resources
- Monitor daily news flow and stock performance of our clients and their industries
- Assist with long-term client projects and internal initiatives
- Assist with tactical client work and marketing efforts as necessary
- Assist Senior Research Analyst with compiling/updating necessary databases
This is an entrepreneurial opportunity and provides a path for permanent employment upon completion of internship and education. Candidates must be interested in financial markets, quantitative methods, and financial analysis. Candidates must also have excellent critical thinking, writing, speaking, and computer skills. Candidates should be entrepreneurial, aggressive, and looking for challenging, hands-on experience with a growing company. Candidates should not be above helping our team share administrative tasks.
Strong financial writing skills are imperative, and candidates should be prepared to turn in writing and classwork samples between Rounds 1 and 2.
