We currently have an opportunity for a Claims Assistant to join our team in our Ellicott City, MD office.

The selected employee will act as a liaison between clients, adjusters, lawyers, insurance companies, claims management and other related client services for personal lines automobile and homeowners and commercial lines property and casualty in accordance with the practices, policies and procedures of the Company.

Job Responsibilities:

Regularly review of basic claims status with clients/insurers/loss adjusters regularly

Document conversations with clients and carrier representatives and update all HUB computer systems and automated agency management systems when necessary

Maintain the accurate data in those systems

Handle follow up requests regarding claim status for small business accounts

Participate as required in quarterly open claim reviews

Provide assistance to Claim Service Specialists with Open Claim Activities in EPIC

Handle Claim Attachments in EPIC

Electronically file claims accurately, as deemed appropriate for reporting purposes only

Work closely with Producers and other HUB personnel on all claims aspects for our clients, while adhering to HUB’s best practices and standard procedures

Stay abreast of changes in the insurance industry and other external conditions that may impact clients

Request Loss Run Reports

Attend industry related continuing education training and courses

Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications:

High School Diploma required; some college preferred

Experience with personal and commercial lines claims preferred

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Power Point and Publisher

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Ability to pay attention to detail

Ability to solve problems of a difficult procedural, organizational, administrative or technical nature

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
