IT Department Internship

Oxygen Service Co. is excited to offer a paid summer Internship in the IT Department. The Intern will receive an introduction to the main functions within the IT Department. This position will assist with a wide variety of tasks including help desk support, hardware and software setup and other tasks as assigned. This position will work closely with the IT department members, with exposure to other staff and leadership team members.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Information Technology staff with tasks including:
  • Providing technical support to internal clients.
  • Troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues.
  • Implementing IT initiatives to support the efficient operation of the company.
  • Escalating issues to ensure timely resolution.
  • Administrative tasks such as cataloguing and ordering equipment and standardizing user access settings.
  • Updating and creating training materials to support end users. 
• Provide support on a variety of projects as assigned.

Education and Skills: 

• Rising Junior or Senior pursuing bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other related field from an accredited college or university with an average 3.0 GPA
• Experience with Windows operating systems in a networked environment
• Support and configure client/server apps. (ODBC, email, MS SQL) is a plus
• Self-motivated, and process minded.
• Proficient with PC computers and Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent communication skills, ability to interact with multiple levels of the organization.
• Organized and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to handle and manage confidential information.

Job Specifications/Requirements:

Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time throughout the work day. Occasional lifting of 0-20 pounds is required. Occasional standing, walking, twisting, and bending. Continuous fine manipulation, including grasping and handling. Frequently twist head/neck, talk, and hear.
