Food expeditors

Food expeditors ensure a smooth flow between the front of the house and the back of the house. They set the pace and flow of the kitchen to ensure that all dishes are properly prepared and served at the correct temperatures. They also ensure that a table gets all their food at the same time.


 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Communicate with everyone in the kitchen.

2. Ensure all food leaving the kitchen is of the level of quality prescribed.

3. Make certain all plates are hot and garnished correctly.

4. Make certain that every food item is accounted for.

5. Safely store all food order tickets for later reference.

6. Fill out all required forms appropriately.

7. Maintain all equipment and utensils.

8. Keep own work area of the kitchen organized.

9. Follow all rotation procedures.

10. Label and date all products used.

11. Follow management's instructions and suggestions.

12. Responsible for laying out and garnishing all the plates.

13. Makes certain that each member of the waitstaff receives the correct plates with the correct items on them.

14. Ensures that every food item that leaves the kitchen has had an order ticket written for it.


 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

All other duties as assigned.


 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

2. Food Handler certification or willingness to obtain.


 

WORKING CONDITIONS

High noise levels, hot, must be able to lift 50+ pounds
