Library Support Assistant (Cataloging, Metadata and Digitization)

The Student Assistant in Cataloging Metadata Digitization (CMD) will be learning to use library specific software and completing other projects as assigned under the supervision of CMD Department Librarians and staff. Projects may cover the entire spectrum of department functions and may include some or all of the following: learning to work in the Alma library system, learning to update records in the library catalog, learning packing and shipping procedures, transporting books and serials within the library, performing basic data entry tasks using Microsoft Excel, transcribing handwriting from old, digitized documents. Student must be able to work relatively independently once training is completed, have attention to detail, and ability to work in a variety of workflows depending on the project or the materials.
