Business and Marketing Assistant, DSHB

Job Title: DSHB Business & Marketing Assistant

Location: DSHB Main Office, Biology Building East

Position Type: Summer Internship, 20-30 Hours per Week

Compensation: $16 per Hour

Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Marketing Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in increasing our visibility and engagement within the scientific research community. You will focus on monitoring Google Scholar hits related to DSHB's products and will create compelling social media content and promotional materials to highlight the use of our products in emerging scientific literature.


 

Key Responsibilities:
 

 

Google Scholar Engagement:

  • Monitor Google Scholar for publications, articles, or research studies referencing DSHB's products.
  • Respond to, engage with, and acknowledge mentions of DSHB within scholarly content.
  • Identify opportunities to showcase DSHB's products in relevant research contexts.


 

Social Media Management:

  • Create and schedule engaging social media posts across various platforms, highlighting DSHB's products' relevance in current scientific literature.
  • Develop content that resonates with our audience and promotes the use of our products in research.


 

Promotional Materials:

  • Assist in the creation of promotional materials, including infographics, flyers, and banners, showcasing DSHB's products and their applications in emerging scientific studies.


 

Content Tracking:

  • Keep track of engagement metrics and trends related to social media posts and promotional materials.
  • Report on the effectiveness of content strategies and make recommendations for improvements.


 

Qualifications:

  • Current undergraduate student pursuing a degree in or marketing, communications, or a related field. Biology and life science majors are also welcome and encouraged to apply.
  • Strong interest in science, biology, or research-related topics.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms.
  • Basic graphic design skills (experience with tools like Canva or Adobe Illustrator is a plus).
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Enthusiasm for staying updated on scientific literature and trends.
