Videographer - Student Life Communication

BASIC FUNCTION
As a student videographer, you will create communication and marketing/promotional video pieces for student organizations and departments within the Division of Student Life and across campus. You will work directly with clients, marketers and graphic designers to create high quality video pieces on many different platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Shoot videos of people, places, events, and various other subjects as assigned. 
  • Independently schedule the assigned work ensuring that videos are filmed and edited within the defined criteria and by established deadlines.
  • Edit video projects per project specifications.
  • Organize and manage all marketing and design video projects, including sorting and tagging videos.
  • Care for and maintain equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Online portfolio including a minimum of two videos created.
  • Experience and knowledge of videography concepts such as light, composition, exposure, and frame rate.
  • Proficient with Adobe Premiere. 
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills, self-motivated, and organized.
  • Experience with Adobe After Effects, animating titles or text, and experience with video lighting and creative video techniques is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license is preferred.
  • Ability to make a one-year commitment.

WORK HOURS
  • This position is limited to up to 20 hours per week (320 hours per semester). Students may work up to 40 hours per week during break periods (spring, summer, fall, and winter) as assigned.
  • Availability during business hours Monday – Friday is preferred. Various hours between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
