Senior Analyst, Survey and Outcomes Research

Job Summary

The Survey and Outcomes Research Team oversees primary data collection projects and initiatives for GNYHA. This includes developing original surveys, evaluations, and quality measures to support performance improvement projects, creating secure and streamlined data collection processes, and designing easy-to-use reports and dashboards. Reporting to the Vice President, Survey and Outcomes Research, the Senior Analyst will support projects related to safety culture, program evaluation, patient safety and performance improvement, and hospital utilization. This position will require collaboration with subject matter experts across GNYHA in a variety of health policy topics. The position is a growth opportunity for an individual interested in building a significant career in quantitative health policy.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing a complete understanding of the complex data collection and reporting requirements for existing survey and quality improvement projects.
  • Maintaining and improving existing web applications used for data collection and data visualization.
  • Creating reports and dashboards on a variety of metrics for a diverse audience of healthcare professionals.
  • Testing programs and applications used for data collection or reporting
  • Acquiring a detailed knowledge of trends in hospital measurement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as public policy, public administration, public health, statistics, or health administration.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in a research or analytical role
  • Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative analysis.
  • Experience with any software used for quantitative analysis.
  • Interest in quality/performance improvement health data.
  • Ability to present complex data in a simple, understandable way.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and to confront new issues on a regular basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related field such as public policy, public administration, public health, statistics, or health administration.
  • Experience with specific analytic software, such as Microsoft Excel, SAS, SPSS, or R.
  • Experience with data visualization software such as Tableau or Power BI.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $82,000

The salary range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement. When determining exact compensation, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., years of relevant experience, education, skills, budget, and internal equity).

Work Schedule: A hybrid model with the expectation to work physically in our office Tuesdays and Wednesdays as mandatory in-office days with a third in-office day at your discretion, in coordination with your supervisor and in accordance with the business needs of your department. This schedule may be subject to change in GNYHA’s sole discretion. This is a full-time position.
