Lab/Test Engineer

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Lab/Test Engineer to join our gaming team responsible for the build and test lab at the studios. The ideal candidate will be local to Redmond, WA, as this role requires hands-on hardware configuration and troubleshooting in our Redmond area facility. While there may be some remote work involved, the majority of this role will be onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and upkeep servers and clients in the lab environment.
  • Automate processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Set up and manage a variety of machines, including Windows PC desktops, Macs, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switches.
  • Implement automation using Azure DevOps for lab hardware maintenance.
  • Write automation scripts to manage machine lifecycles in both Azure and On-Prem environments.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues as needed.
  • Install software and run automated tests based on provided instructions.
  • Provide status reports on test scenarios, lab machines, and configurations.
  • Lift and move hardware equipment weighing up to 40lbs as required.

Candidate Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a lab/test engineering role.
  • Hands-on experience with SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) understanding, including building and testing processes.
  • Proficiency with Azure, including experience in using and automating tasks within the Azure environment. Knowledge of XML and PowerShell scripting is essential.
  • Experience with Mac and Linux is a plus.
  • Must be able to lift and move hardware equipment weighing up to 40lbs.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of personal computers, applications software, and/or operating systems.
  • Experience in setting up computer hardware, installing/upgrading software, and operating systems.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced to expert level PowerShell skills.

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Relevant certifications or work experience equivalent.
