DevOps Engineer II

SUMMARY
The DevOps Engineer II will be part of the Mechanical Business Unit (MBU) to support the development of software, processes, and supporting systems for MBU Microsoft Windows products. The DevOps Engineer II will collaborate with a team of expert professionals to accomplish development objectives and oversee software releases. 
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs basic DevOps activities, including the implementation, maintenance, monitoring, documenting and testing of product builds and packaging to provide quality automated production builds on Windows systems.  

Troubleshoots and resolves issues in development, testing and production environments.  

Works closely with development to adjust builds and packaging to changing requirements (e.g. compiler upgrades, product versioning, etc.). 

Investigates and works with engineers to address build and runtime failures  

Works collaboratively with others to anticipate future needs and technological evolutions and propose and implement new solutions following best practices to address. 

Maintains and updates third-party dependencies as needed. 

Works with IT to maintain DevOps infrastructure  

Performs other job-related duties that may be assigned by management from time to time.  

Works under the general supervision of a Principal R&D Engineer. 
 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

BS in Computer Science, or related field with 2 years of experience or MS 

Working experience with:

Azure DevOps

YAML

Git

Scripting (e.g. PowerShell, bash, cmd, Python)

Visual Studio Projects

Microsoft, Intel and GCC compilers

Possess thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows
 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g. Ubuntu, Rocky, etc.) 

Proven ability to plan and complete high-quality work on schedule 

Proven ability to quickly learn, troubleshoot and solve a problem 

Good communication and interpersonal skills  

Proven ability to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team 

An understanding of these tools

Visual Studio Code

CMake build tool
