Internship Overview: The Data Analysis Intern will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing large data sets to support our research projects on social justice issues. This position is perfect for students who are passionate about social justice and data science, and who are eager to apply their analytical skills to real-world challenges. Interns will report directly to the Research Director and collaborate closely with our communications and research teams.

 

Academic Collaboration and Credit:

 

Rise Against Hate partners with educational institutions to enable students to earn college credit for their internship. We facilitate the necessary documentation and evaluations required for academic credit approval. Interns should coordinate with their school advisors to ensure the internship aligns with their academic requirements and to confirm credit eligibility.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze large data sets to uncover trends and insights related to social justice topics.
  • Contribute to the development of research papers and reports by providing data-driven evidence and analysis.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating data archives and databases.
  • Prepare visual data presentations and summaries for stakeholder communications.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to translate data findings into actionable digital content.
  • Engage in special projects and perform additional tasks as needed to support the organization's goals.

 

 

Training and Development: Interns will participate in weekly training sessions to develop skills in nonprofit management, digital marketing, and effective communication, adhering to NACE standards for a high-quality internship experience.

 

Qualifications:

  • Flexible start and end dates during the summer.
  • Strong interest in data science, social justice, and research.
  • Exceptional analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools and software.
  • Able to commit at least 15 hours per week for remote work.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
