We have a Clinical Lab Assistant opening for an undergraduate student in a science or healthcare major. This is an opportunity to gain exposure to a diagnostic immunology clinical lab setting and develop experience at handling patient samples directly while also quantifying and reporting measurements, therefore demonstrating long term competency in a demanding healthcare or lab setting. The work schedule is preferably two days per week, about 6-8 hours maximum per week, and some hours necessary on a weekend rotation about 1-2 weekends per month, with flexible scheduling.

Preferably we are seeking someone to remain with the lab from this current Summer 2024 semester through Spring 2026 semester.   Therefore, graduating in May 2026 or afterwards and remaining with the lab through then is most preferable.

This is a very short hours position, paid at $13/hr. and is a student clinical lab experience essentially. The student workers tend to work shifts for 2-3 hours between classes on two separate weekdays, with a weekend rotation duty of 1-2 hours occurring every 4 weeks. The student workers continue through the summer season but there is flexibility on some extended summer vacation time.

The laboratory duties range from general maintenance of cleaning and calibrating instruments on a regular schedule, helping to maintain our printed records, setting up working reagents and buffers, processing of patient samples in lymphocyte transformation assays, and organizing the data into patient reports and spreadsheets on Windows computers.
