Fall Co-op/Operations Oversight Data Analysis

Department Description:

Operations Oversight (OpsO) conducts primary monitoring of several High Risk GSK business processes, ensuring that both employees and vendors are conforming to the Commercial Policies and Contractual Obligations. We review operational data on a set schedule to look for process deviations from the expected norms. We also perform ad-hoc analyses at the request of our stakeholders.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will work with one or more monitoring analysts to conduct primary monitoring on a target dataset. Activities will include (based on knowledge and experience):

  • Executing procedures to update KPIs/KRIs
  • Updating data in spreadsheets, databases and dashboards based on monitoring activities
  • Extracting data sets
  • Performing data normalizing and data cleanup activities
  • Building charts, tables and graphs from complex data
  • Updating SOPs and Work Instructions based on direction or results of monitoring

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Math, Science, Computer Science, or Economics.
  • Intermediate Excel experience required, including using built in data analytic functions, pivot tables, VLookup, comprehensive graphing, and macro functions.
  • Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the 6-month co-op.
  • Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience updating and/or writing queries in SQL (Oracle or SQL Server preferred)
  • Experience with data visualization using tools like Excel, PowerBI, Tableau

Candidates who are hired for an on-site role or hybrid role, and reside outside of 50-miles from their assigned work location, are eligible for relocation stipend. This is a one-time payment to help offset housing & relocation expenses. Please refer to the position details for the requirements of each position.
