PC Support Technician (Computer Tech)

TITLE: PC Support Technician – District Office


QUALIFICATIONS: 1. A + and Network + Certification preferred
2. Three years of work experience in PC or network support
3. Technology expertise with microcomputers and networked systems
4. Experience troubleshooting and repairing microcomputers and peripherals
5. Experience working with Novell networks preferred
6. Experience with a variety of software applications
7. Network integration skills
8. Microsoft Windows networking experience
9. Experience working with IBM AS400 systems a plus
 

REPORTS TO: Director of Instructional Technology & InformationServices
 

JOB GOAL: To support the educational technology program by providing PC hardware, software and peripheral support to computer users districtwide.
 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Evaluate, install and maintain PC hardware, software and peripheral equipment; troubleshoot and repair of hardware, software and peripherals districtwide; provide first-level network support; maintain,
upgrade and install network cabling; travel to villages as needed to support hardware, software and peripheral equipment; provide hardware and software telephone support to users districtwide; maintain inventory of equipment and parts for the educational
technology program; track and report on PC support calls; be current in state of the art technology including distance delivery systems; establish and maintain effective working relationships with all NWABSD departments; participate in departmental team
efforts including day-to-day operations and planning; other duties as assigned. Preferred but not necessary: Experience working with IBM AS400 business systems; experience working with satellite receive systems.
 

LENGTH OF POSITION: Full-time, 7.5 hours per day, 261 days per year.
 

SALARY: Depending on experience/certifications.
