Mental Health Specialist

Gundersen Health System is seeking a part-time Mental Health Specialist for our Inpatient Behavioral Health department. This is your opportunity to provide trauma-informed care in a healing environment while doing the work you love in the beautiful coulee region.

 

What you will do:

  • Fulfill 48 hours per two week = 0.6 FTE
  • Work 12-hour day shifts, 7:30am - 8pm; every third weekend; two holidays per year
  • Provide care to patients ages 13+ experiencing an acute mental health crisis across three different units: acute adult, low acuity adult, and adolescent
  • Partner with an interdisciplinary team consisting of psychiatrists, NPs, RNs, behavioral health specialists, CNAs, social workers, occupational therapists, recreational therapists, peer support specialist, clergy, and addiction counselors
  • Assists with the implementation of daily program activities for behavioral health patients 
  • Provide support for our patient's emotional and social needs through group facilitation and one-on-one contacts
  • Promote and monitor patient safety and help to ensure a healthy unit milieu

What you need:

  • Bachelors degree in Social Work or Psychology or Sociology or a related human service field
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience working in human services field or health care setting
