Energy Policy & Planning Analyst - JC-440011

Energy Division/Building Decarbonization and Gas Policy Branch / Natural Gas Policy and Reliability

Do you want to gain in-depth knowledge of California's energy system while working on consumer protection and the energy transition? The person who fills this position will work on issues related to Core Transport Agents (CTAs) as well as other gas policy proceedings. Core Transport Agents are unregulated natural gas providers that give customers an alternative to utility gas procurement. While the CPUC does not regulate CTAs, it does provide oversight and consumer protection. Other policy work focuses on affordability, safety, reliability, and the gas transition. If you are a clear communicator and a pragmatic problem-solver who thrives in a team environment, the Gas Policy and Reliability team could be a good place to take the next step on your career path.

More information about natural gas issues at the CPUC can be found at: https://www.cpuc.ca.gov/industries-and-topics/natural-gas/natural-gas-and-california.

Note: No preference is given to applicants at any particular location. Please only apply to multiple locations if you are undecided about your preferred location.
