Department Performance Improvement Assistant

Job Title: Department Performance Improvement Assistant

Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Department Performance Improvement Assistant located at Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville, Nebraska.  Position closes Monday, July 29, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time. 

 

Position Summary

 

The Department Performance Improvement Assistant is responsible to assist department management and supervision in the ongoing implementation and maintenance of performance improvement programs for the individual department. Responsibilities include monitoring and evaluation of program implementation, maintenance of program performance indicators, running various reports as needed to support monitoring/information requests and providing assistance and information to internal and external users of the programs.

This position is not a progression from an administrative position performing periodic CAP/performance improvement (PI) activities, but rather a stand-alone support role intended for smaller departments at CNS. Although department administrative tasks may be included, the primary function (more that 50%) of the role is to support and coordinate an individual department’s CAP/PI activities. This is a support position for a department and not a program lead. 

Daily administration of the specific department corrective action program and assist in the overall CNS program, department condition report and corrective action processing, database maintenance including some department performance improvement coordinator (DPIC) responsibilities. Coach site and department personnel on process requirements and expectations. Assist in the development and revision of procedures in accordance with current regulatory and administrative requirements.

Education, Training and Experience

 

Bachelor’s degree.

OR

Associate's degree and two years of related experience.
OR

High school diploma/GED and four years of related experience.

Nuclear experience in the areas of continuous improvement, corrective action, performance monitoring (performance indicators) or database manipulation. Demonstrated decision-making, problem-solving and data analysis skills. Demonstrated proficiency in various computer programs, such as SAP, PCRS and Microsoft Office.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

Provide assistance to address internal and external customer needs related to department performance improvement programs.

Maintain resources such as web pages, computerized job aids and reference materials for department performance improvement programs.

Maintain metrics and performance indicators for department performance improvement programs.

Complete quality reviews and effectiveness reviews of corrective actions impacting the department.

Provide assistance for revision and maintenance of department performance improvement processes, procedures and supporting training programs.

Participate as an evaluator in self-assessments of department performance improvement programs.

Daily CAP administration including data entry, CAP look ahead reports and processing.

Accountable for other duties as assigned.

Salary Information - Nebraska Public Power District offers a competitive starting salary with opportunities for growth. In addition to the base salary range listed below, NPPD employees may also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program (AIP) that may supplement total compensation at a level above and beyond the stated salary range.  Successful applicants will be provided more information regarding the incentive program at the time of an interview.

Pay Grade - 10 Monthly

Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $4,838.00  - $6,047.00

 

Travel Required: Up to 25% (With no or minimal overnight stays, less than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska)  Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
