The State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Water Quality has an opening for an Engineering Geologist within the Site Cleanup and Department of Defense Program. This position is an opportunity for an Engineering Geologist to contribute to a multi-disciplinary team overseeing administration of two state cleanup programs and using their geology skills for various special projects on contaminant transport and cleanup. The position is located at California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA) Headquarters, 1001 I Street, 15th Floor, Sacramento, California.  

Duties:

The Engineering Geologist supports both the statewide Site Cleanup Program and Department of Defense (DoD) Program. The Engineering Geologist is required to work independently and part of team, communicate effectively, manage multiple tasks and projects, and become efficient in state and federal statutes related to site contamination.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
