Construction Sustainability Intern

JOB SUMMARY:    

The Sustainability Intern will support the Sustainability Department in driving innovative sustainability strategies for our corporate and construction operations. This role will assist in developing training resources, maintain company green metrics, and support project needs. This individual will learn to navigate green building rating systems and calculate carbon emissions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Support BNB corporate sustainability strategy by tracking energy, waste, and water use in offices and on jobsites.
  • Support project team needs in pursuit of LEED, Living Building Challenge (or other) third party certifications.
  • Proactively research industry trends and developments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Pursuing a degree in Sustainability, Environmental Studies, Environmental Engineering or similar.
  • Understanding of LEED, Living Building Challenge and WELL (preferred)
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer software, i.e. Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Eagerness to learn.

BNB believes in collaboration, team building, and a strong supervisor/employee relationship. To accomplish this, the duties of this role are not performed in a remote capacity, and we expect that all employees will complete work in an office/job site setting.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at the job site. The noise level in the work environment and job site can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.

The salary range for this position is between $26.00 and $27.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
