DESCRIPTION

 

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an Electroanalytical Postdoctoral Researcher to work with our Electroanalytical team within the Analytical Chemistry & Characterization department reporting to the Project Investigator. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off.

The scope of the research projects is to conduct fundamental investigations to uncover mechanistic and kinetic information on redox and chemically-coupled electron transfer reactions, pertinent to electrochemical separation and energy conversion and storage processes. To achieve this, the researcher will combine state-of-the-art in-situ molecular and interfacial spectroelectrochemical methods with computational analyses. This position is available for two years with a potential extension to three years.

You will have a good track-record of publishing research articles in respected peer-reviewed journals in the position’s research area. You will be well versed in scientific work, including formulation of research plans, designing experiments, data analysis, formulation of conclusions and manuscript writing. We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic colleague with excellent communication skills.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • A PhD in Electrochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry or related fields. PhD requirements must be completed by commencement of appointment and within the previous 5 years
  • Experience with Redox Chemistry of Organic/Inorganic Systems in non-aqueous (air-sensitive) electrolyte systems.
  • Fundamental understanding of electron transfer, mass transport, and chemically-coupled processes

Desired Requirements:

  • Use of in-situ electronic and vibrational spectroelectrochemistry techniques and chemometric analyses

Job Information: 

  • The target salary for this position is $96,900. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.

  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
