Financial Analysis Intern

Overview:

Wendy’s is looking for a high potential individual who is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance to spend the summer with us as a Wendy’s Intern. We are looking for an individual with an analytical mindset, a passion for building relationships and getting an opportunity to get away from their desk and interact with leaders from across Wendy’s Finance and Accounting. Scope of the internship experience may include working on either the Marketing & Digital Finance team or the Operations Finance team. 

This position will report directly to a Finance Manager who will provide coaching throughout the process and ensure that each area is prepared, and the schedule is being maintained. In your internship, we will ensure there is time for interaction with other members of the Accounting and Finance Leadership Team to gain perspective on how these teams are supported and developed. You will gain exposure to, learn from, and have the opportunity to work with industry-leading professionals within and outside of Finance, Operations and Marketing. As a Wendy’s Intern, you will be involved in key initiatives driving our business forward. You will be expected to not just work under the instruction of your manager, but to exhibit initiative and creative problem solving in pursuit of your goals and tasks. Your 10-12 weeks with us will be unique and personalized based not only on our business needs, but also on your personal interests & development goals. 

Key Responsibilities:   

• Drive growth through reporting and analysis of restaurant, product and promotion performance, including sales and profit growth, competitive benchmarking and other key business performance metrics.
• Consolidate information so that a recommendation can be made to cross-functional partners to drive the business forward.
• Interact with Accounting & Finance Leadership to better understand how department teams are supported and coached
• Receive feedback and coaching throughout internship program and also provide feedback back to Wendy’s team on the program for future improvement
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Education- High School Diploma
• Open to anyone currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with a variety of individuals
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Positive, self-motivated individual eager to explore the opportunities available for a career in Accounting or Finance
