Staff Accountant - Tax/Audit

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to add to the team in our Mason City location. Learn more about living and working in the Mason City  and Clear Lake area.

The Staff Accountant - Tax/Audit is responsible for preparing simple and moderately complex income tax returns. Additional responsibilities include assistance with the various functions of audit engagements.

Job Duties:

· Prepare simple and moderately complex income tax returns (1120, 1120S, 1065, 1040)

· Remain up-to-date on tax practices and changes in tax law

· Prepare compiled and reviewed financial statements

· Assist with financial statement audit engagements

· Interact with clients in a positive manner to ensure that the information flow from our clients to our team is efficient and accurate

· Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Skilled communicator with clients and staff
  • Ability to maintain organized and efficient work strategies
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to complete required professional development
  • Driver's License (Required)

Education and Experience:

· Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or eligible to sit for the CPA exam

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field

· Related income tax experience with both individual and business returns

· Experience in completing audit work papers and documenting audit tests and findings and/or experience with general ledger accounting entries and reconciliations preferred

· Experience with QuickBooks accounting software preferred

 

Schedule:

January 1 - April 30: 8:00AM - 5:00PM Monday - Friday

May 1 - December 31: 8:00AM-5:00PM Monday - Thursday 8:00AM-1:00PM Friday

Job Classification Pay Range: $58,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year
