The Hacker Fellows Internship Program is a summer-long experience hackers, coders and startup enthusiasts looking to intern with early stage tech companies in Michigan while gaining lifelong connections. We accept 10 aspiring startup software developers to our summer internship program. No, no, no, interns won't be fetching coffee and testing boring products. Interns will be embarking on a summer quest to startup enlightenment with their techy peers.
We are looking for highly creative software engineers, passionate about tech, entrepreneurship and startups to participate in our 2020 Internship program and join the expanding Hacker Fellows community. Our yearly cohorts consist of 10 developers/engineers, currently studying CS or engineering, who work with high-growth startups around Michigan.
The 2020 Hacker Fellows internship program runs from May 11, 2020 until July 31, 2020. Interns will participate in a one-week training bootcamp (May 11 - 15), where we will house the interns in Downtown Detroit. After the bootcamp they will live and breathe startup software development in the ecosystem where their pairing company resides, for the remainder of the summer.
During the initial one-week training, the 10-person internship cohort will come together to become startup “job ready,” learning technologies commonly used by high-growth, tech companies. In the second part of this program, interns will work as a developer for an approved Michigan startup. Following the internship program, Hacker Fellows Interns can continue with the company or pursue their own path as well as continue to contribute to the growing Hacker Fellows community.
Hacker Fellows has built strong relationships with many high-growth, venture backed startups in Michigan, including Autonomic, Censys, Duo Security, OPS Solutions, StockX, Tome, Waymark and many more. These companies provide incredible experiences for our Hacker Fellows and continually utilize the program to access top dev/engineering talent.
Hacker Fellows is a program managed by Invest Detroit Ventures. Our goal is to attract and retain top developers in the state of Michigan and pair them with early stage tech companies.
