Learning Behavior Specialist
Qualifications:
- Illinois Professional Educator License with Learning Behavior Specialist 1 endorsement
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated with demonstrated time management and organizational skills
- Ability to perform as part of a student services team
- Flexible, independent self-starter
- Strong technology skills
- Expertise with behavioral and academic interventions
- Ability to analyze student academic and behavior data for instructional purposes
An outstanding candidate for this position is a professional who:
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, related service providers and parents
- Develop and implement IEPs in compliance with the IDEA and IL regulations
- Provide behavior interventions
- Provide academic interventions
- Participate in functional behavioral analysis and behavior intervention planning
- Strong curricular knowledge related to programming for behavior and academic needs
- Direct instructional aides in implementation of accommodations and/or modifications
- Participate in problem solving team process
- Provide progress monitoring and data collection to drive instructional decisions
- Demonstrate initiative, problem-solving skills and flexibility
- Trained in CPI certification
