Learning Behavior Specialist

Qualifications:

 

  • Illinois Professional Educator License with Learning Behavior Specialist 1 endorsement
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to perform as part of a student services team
  • Flexible, independent self-starter
  • Strong technology skills
  • Expertise with behavioral and academic interventions
  • Ability to analyze student academic and behavior data for instructional purposes

 

 

An outstanding candidate for this position is a professional who:

 

  • Work collaboratively with general education teachers, related service providers and parents
  • Develop and implement IEPs in compliance with the IDEA and IL regulations
  • Provide behavior interventions
  • Provide academic interventions
  • Participate in functional behavioral analysis and behavior intervention planning
  • Strong curricular knowledge related to programming for behavior and academic needs
  • Direct instructional aides in implementation of accommodations and/or modifications
  • Participate in problem solving team process
  • Provide progress monitoring and data collection to drive instructional decisions
  • Demonstrate initiative, problem-solving skills and flexibility
  • Trained in CPI certification
