Position Overview

The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Behavioral Analyst 1 for the Mabley Developmental Center located in Dixon, Illinois to perform professional behavioral analysis for individuals with intellectual disabilities.  Develops, implements and monitors behavioral program systems for assigned individual. Trains program delivery staff in behavior analysis techniques. Develops program recommendations for inter-disciplinary or multi-disciplinary team review. Serves as a member of the inter-disciplinary team.  Provides habilitation programming for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

 

Job Responsibilities 

  1. Performs professional behavioral analysis for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  2. Provides guidance and direction to Interdisciplinary Team members in the implementation of behavioral procedures to modify individuals’ behavior and assists in the development and implementation of specialized projects.
  3. Serves as a member of the Inter-disciplinary Team to develop, review and update assigned individuals habilitation plans.
  4. Integrates facility and community-based services to meet each individual’s needs.
  5. Verifies treatment procedures, restraints and seclusion are implemented only under proper approval and in compliance with facility and department regulations.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Requires current, valid certification as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)* or Board-Certified Behavior Analyst-D (BCBA-D) by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), accredited by the by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or its successor organization.
  2. Requires one year of professional experience in, applied behavior analysis or completion of the agency-sponsored Behavior Analyst Associate program.

* A master’s degree is required to gain BCBA certification; a doctoral degree (PhD) is required to gain the BCBA-D designation.

*For those positions serving as Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professionals, such experience must be working directly with intellectually or developmentally disabled persons and appointees must successfully complete department training designed specifically for the QIDP before the completion of his/her probationary period.

* This class is included as an Upward Mobility Program credential title.

  3. Requires the ability to physically restrain individuals as necessary to prevent injury to individual or others.
  4. Requires the ability to travel in the performance of job duties.
  5. Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
  6. Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
