Events Intern

Summary of Position

The Events Intern will assist in the planning, production, and execution of high-quality events throughout the summer. This position is part of a busy team that produces many events each year. This position will assist with day of wedding assistance, golf tournaments, and special events as needed.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

• Weddings
  • Greet the wedding party as soon as they arrive at the venue and show them to the appropriate suites.
  • Deliver food and beverages to the wedding suites as requested.
  • Communicate with multiple vendors throughout the day to ensure a seamless wedding day.
  • Answer any questions from wedding party, family, friends, vendors, etc. regarding catering and venue aspects.
  • Participate in the ceremony process.
  • Ensure dinner service runs smoothly and all dietary restrictions are met.
• Golf Tournaments & Special Events
  • Assist with a handful of larger tournaments and events throughout the summer, mainly during the week.
  • Answer any questions the tournament team or other guests have regarding the venue and catering.
  • Communicate with event staff on any changes.
  • Help with golf staff to ensure a seamless day.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time especially when at events.
• Must be able to lift tables, chairs, etc.

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities

• Energetic team player with the ability to function independently; as well as in a collaborate environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in an undergraduate or graduate program related to event management or related major.
• Strong customer service and decision-making skills.
• Positive, motivating, and team spirited attitude.
• Must be available to work some nights and weekends for events.
