Financial Systems Analyst

The Financial Systems Analyst, Mutual Fund Operations develops automation solutions and reports for investment systems and finance applications in a secure environment. Key responsibilities include supporting daily operations, enhancing systems to meet new regulations, and assisting complex investment strategies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to review systems, document requirements, and build automation and compliance solutions while maintaining and improving legacy systems.

Your role and impact

  • Data Management & Reporting: 
    • Develop and maintain a robust data management plan for investment and financial data, ensuring accurate and accessible SQL databases. 
    • Facilitate data access and extraction; assist with financial statement preparation and filings. 
    • Provide flexibility during project implementations and other critical deadlines.
  • Systems & Process Improvement: 
    • Evaluate and enhance financial and investment systems to meet regulatory requirements and support evolving strategies. 
    • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, implement process efficiencies, and explore innovative technologies like AI and RPA automation.
  • Project Leadership & Collaboration: 
    • Lead or contribute to special projects, ensuring timely delivery of results. 
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to drive success.

What sets you up for success

  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a business-related field.
    • Previous experience in investments, mutual funds, or a similar operational environment.
  • Required Skills:
    • Strong ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in SQL for developing complex queries and reports.
    • Intermediate knowledge of VBA for maintaining and enhancing Excel-based applications.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear issue articulation to management.
  • Preferred Skills
    • Knowledge of mutual fund industry regulations and technical issues.
    • Experience in public accounting, mutual fund accounting, or fund administration with a focus on systems and automation.
    • Familiarity with Generative AI for research, coding, and automation.
    • Intermediate knowledge of Bloomberg and Morningstar Direct
