Deputy Sheriff

Deputy Sheriffs, working under the authority of the Sheriff, patrol assigned areas within the county.  Deputies respond to a wide variety of calls for service from crimes in progress, accidents, and assisting the public. Deputies also perform traffic enforcement issuing traffic citations and warnings. Deputies transport arrestees/inmates, serve civil papers, and testify in court. Deputies may be assigned to special positions which include Detective, Drug Task Force Investigator and School Resource Officer.
