Sleepy Hollow Recreational Attendant

Polk County Conservation is excited to announce that we are hiring Sleepy Hollow Recreational Attendants as we prepare for the reopening of the newly enhanced facilities at Sleepy Hollow Sports Park. This is a unique opportunity to join the team bringing year-round snow sports to the Des Moines Metro area with our state-of-the-art Snowflex technology.

We are currently hiring for summer positions, with training scheduled to take place in the spring. These roles are for variable-hour employees, offering flexible, on-call schedules of up to 28 hours per week. Hours will vary depending on the season and the events taking place, making this an exciting and dynamic work environment.

We are seeking versatile team members who are eager to contribute across multiple areas, including but not limited to:

  • Concessions (must be 18+ years old)
  • Ticketing and customer service
  • Tubing Hill Assistance
  • Lift Operations (must be 18+ years old)
  • Custodial Duties
  • Light Maintenance

Training and Experience:

  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Enrolled in high school or
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education, or
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience that will have provided the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Special Requirement:

  • A criminal background check is required.
  • A valid State of Iowa driver’s license is required.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification is required within six months.
