2025 Summer Internship

Iowa Legal Aid is now accepting applications for paid summer internships for our
Farmworker Rights Project. The position is full-time during the summer. Undergraduate
and Graduate students are paid $20.00 dollars per hour, Law School students are paid
$22.50 dollars per hour, all receive mileage for travel and other eligible expenses.


Iowa Legal Aid provides high quality, legal representation in civil cases to lowincome
people through individual representation, impact litigation, and community legal
education. The Farmworker Rights Project of Iowa Legal Aid is seeking undergraduate,
graduate, and/or law student interns to support education, outreach, and legal assistance
efforts to farmworkers and families who work in a variety of agricultural jobs throughout
Iowa. Farmworkers and their families face many legal problems, including employment,
wage and hour, health and safety, housing, labor and child trafficking, among others.   

 

Expectations:            
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal,
and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management
skills with a proven ability to meet
deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to use
good judgement in taking
initiative while asking for
direction or clarification.
• Ability to maintain
confidentiality.

 

Requirements:  

• Bilingual in both English and
Spanish.
• Proficiency in Microsoft
Office Suite.
• This position involves travel,
as many farmworkers work in
rural and remote areas of the state
– it may include some nights and
weekend travel.
• Must have valid driver’s
license and functional vehicle.
