Rec Services - Maintenance Assistant
BASIC FUNCTION
To assist in the day to day maintenance of all Recreational Services facilities, equipment and grounds for the benefit of the members and the university community.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with preventative maintenance and general repair of fitness equipment including prescribed routine cleaning and inspection of equipment.
- Assist with event set-up and tear down.
- Assist with outdoor field and grounds maintenance responsibilities.
- Assist with locker maintenance.
- Keep facilities in excellent condition while also providing great customer service to our members.
- Works cooperatively with other area of the department to achieve established goals.
- Knowledge of all policies and procedures of the facilities.
- Promotes a safe, clean, and functional environment.
- Mandatory attendance at training meetings.
- Performs other work as assigned.

- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work holidays and breaks preferred.
LOCATION
- All Recreational Services Facilities and Fields
WORK HOURS
- This position is limited to up to 20 hours per week (320 hours per semester). May work up to 40 hours per week during break periods (spring, summer, fall and winter) as assigned.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet UI Fleet Services requirements, preferred
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This position is for outdoor work, Primary duties include helping maintain Softball and Rec Fields. Work is Monday through Sunday, with weekends alternating, looking for 2-3 hour shifts
