Property Management Intern
We’re looking for a new addition to our team in Plymouth, MN as a Property Management Intern for Summer 2025!

Responsibilities
- Learn the essential components of property management, including leasing, resident relations, maintenance coordination, and financial oversight.
- Shadow and learn from property managers during on-site tasks and PM TNT (Property Management True North Training)
- Gain experience in handling prospect inquiries, managing resident satisfaction, and supporting leasing efforts, including giving property tours and assisting with leasing tasks. Support resident communication, handle inquiries, and help resolve minor issues related to leasing, payments, or maintenance requests.
- Understand the processes involved in maintaining and enhancing physical properties through routine inspections, maintenance requests, and on-site management.
- Participate in move-in and move-out processes, including preparation, inspections, and assessment of charges.
- Learn how property managers oversee budgets, track rent collections, and contribute to the financial success of the property. Participate in financial performance calls, assist with variance comments, accruals/reclasses, Aged Receivable reports, and help with invoice review, deposit accounting, collections, and write-offs.
- Help post rent payments, track collections, and follow up on late payments.
- Conduct site visits, document findings using Site Audit Pro, and enter work orders in Leonardo247.
- Plan and coordinate resident events, manage resident notices, and assist with social media posts to engage with residents and prospective tenants.
- Assist with data entry, document management, and maintaining property records.
- Collaborate with property management professionals in a dynamic, deadline-driven setting.
- Attend key internal meetings, including Manager Meetings, L10s, and monthly department meetings.
- Audit property folders and help organize important property documentation.
- Create centralized property information resources for use by several departments.
- Assist with 2026 property budgeting process as needed.
- Learn effective communication and problem-solving skills to navigate the complexities of property management while contributing to the team’s success.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education:
- Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s or associate degree program pursuing a degree in Property Management, Real Estate, Hospitality, Business, or a related field.
Experience:
- Experience in customer service or sales roles is a plus, but not required.
- Experience in a supervisory or managerial role is a plus, but not required.
- Experience in multifamily housing: both market rate and affordable (LIHTC & workforce) is a plus, but not required.
- Experience with property accounting software such as Yardi or equivalent is a plus, but not required.
Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office programs required.
- Candidate must be a strong collaborator and a self-starter.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills necessary. Must have the ability to interact with wide range of people, both inside and outside the organization.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Able to undertake multiple projects, manage shifting priorities, and handle a strong workload.

Pay
$22 / hr
