Operations Intern

Position Summary

The Operations Intern will work under the direction of the SVP of Business Operations to gain practical experience and understanding of business operations within VGM & Associates. The intern will support on various tasks across the business unit to manage efficiencies in processes and office management. They should possess skills like attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong phone presence.

As an intern with VGM one will be afforded the opportunity to work and experience VGM’s unique business environment and dynamic culture. The intern must be able to handle multiple concurrent projects and be very detail oriented.

Compensation:      

Paid Internship: The selected candidate will be well compensated and will have growth opportunities within VGM, up to opportunities for full-time employment.

 

Internship Learning Opportunities and Responsibilities:

The work is fast-paced, and deadline focused. You will be challenged to work as part of a team and autonomously on projects such as:

  • Selection and mailing of employee and customer anniversary, condolence, gifts.
  • Planning of divisional social and celebratory events.
  • Coordinating and scheduling Associates quarterly manager meetings.
  • Arrange and implement details of vendor visitor experience while on the main VGM campus.
  • Responsible for calendar management including but not limited to scheduling meetings, confirming availability for participants as well as tracking senior leadership travel.
  • Provide support and tracking of Concur expense reports – collecting receipts and completing the needed documentation.
  • Coordinate various key areas for internal and external meetings, such as food and beverage and conference room set up.
  • Must comply with continuing education per company, regulatory, contractual, and accreditation requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Intern Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma/GED desired.
  • Customer service focused.
  • High degree of integrity and trust.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize with high attention to detail.
  • Possess strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Operation of office equipment and using technology efficiently such as computers, phones, misc. office equipment.
  • Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral vision.
