Data Engineer Intern

As a Data Engineering Intern, you'll work closely with our Lead Data Engineer and the engineering team to:

  • Assist in Data Pipeline Development:
    • Learn the fundamentals of building and maintaining data pipelines.
    • Help with data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
    • Assist in testing and debugging data pipelines.
  • Support Infrastructure Management:
    • Gain exposure to cloud-based data infrastructure (AWS).
    • Learn about data storage, processing, and retrieval.
    • Assist with basic system monitoring and maintenance.
  • Contribute to Data Quality:
    • Help with data cleaning and validation tasks.
    • Learn about data quality best practices.
    • Assist in the creation of data documentation.
  • Learn Coding and Scripting:
    • Practice Python scripting for data manipulation and automation.
    • Gain exposure to shell scripting for system tasks.
    • Learn how to use Git for version control.
  • Collaborate with the Team:
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions.
    • Work with cross-functional teams (marketing, product) to understand data needs.
    • Learn about working in a CI/CD environment.

What We're Looking For:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of programming concepts (ideally Python).
  • Familiarity with database concepts and SQL is a plus.
  • A strong desire to learn about data engineering and cloud technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A growth mindset, and a desire to learn.

Nice-to-Haves (But Not Required):

  • Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS.
  • Experience with Git version control.
  • Basic knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
  • Personal data projects.
