JPEC Program Support Student Employee

The  summer Program Support Student Employee will support the department with various tasks. This position offers the opportunity to get hands-on experience in planning, project management, data management, task coordination, and University of Iowa alumni activities. Time will be dedicated to office procedures and interaction with a diverse population of entrepreneurial start-ups, as well as experience in coordinating program events and travel. This is an excellent resume builder for anyone interested in entrepreneurship, communication, administration, project management, and/or data management. 

This position is classified as a bi-weekly student appointment.  This appointment is for the summer only (May 19-August 22). Possibility of extension based on fall staffing.

Hours are reported electronically on a bi-weekly basis. The position does not include holidays, sick or vacation days; nor does it include benefits.

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Well organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize projects while maintaining accuracy
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions, and solve problems
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, especially Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze data with attention to detail and accuracy

 

Education: 

  • Must be enrolled student at University of Iowa
  • 3.0 minimum GPA

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with a variety of Excel spreadsheets to keep track of alumni data
  • Assist with alumni database by gathering information, ensuring accuracy, and generating reports from data
  • Provide program support for the Startup Incubator Program
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the Iowa JPEC suite which include ordering office supplies & managing email account
  • Assist with coordination and execution of JPEC programs, events and travel
  • Execute special projects as assigned

 

Other Details:

  • During the summer, 20-40 hours/week with flexible hours, schedule to be determined
