Responsibilities: Coordinates and provides oversight for all student advising in the Department of Communication and Media; advises new and transfer students throughout the summer and academic year; develops advising materials and strategies; administers the four-year Grad Pact Program; provides ongoing review and updates departmental advising materials; attends all summer advising sessions; serves as an advocate for students and helps students to resolve problems that relate to departmental and administrative policies, their own plan of study, department curricular matters, and the registration process; contributes to departmental recruiting; and assists in the development and administration of course schedules.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in communication studies, electronic media, public relations, journalism, or related field; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and strong organizational skills required. Master’s degree preferred.
