The work was for worthwhile causes and the people were amazing.

I wish this had been a paid experience, as transportation was expensive.
Advice
Always ask for more responsibility if you're capable of taking it on.

I loved being in D.C. around other interns and other organizations.

The work I was doing was very very independent. Sometimes a little guidance is helpful!
Advice
Take charge of your internship experience! If you aren't getting the experience you wanted, talk to your supervisor and take on initiatives that mean something to you.
