About Uncommon Schools

Uncommon Schools (Uncommon) is a nonprofit organization that manages 54 outstanding K-12, urban charter public schools that close the achievement gap and prepares low-income students to graduate from college. Uncommon builds uncommonly great schools by developing and managing regional networks that are philosophically aligned and highly accountable by designing and implementing “best-in-class” teacher training. Uncommon has achieved outstanding academic results based on internal assessments, statewide exams, and graduation milestones. Uncommon Schools are among the highest-performing urban schools in New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts.

Reviews

Summer Teaching Fellow

May 2019 - July 2019 New York City, NY
“It exposed me to what the charter school system in New York is like and gave me ample opportunities to work with children. I also appreciated the amount of leadership they gave fellows considering our level of experience. It was also very satisfying to leave the summer with a full-time post-grad job opportunity.”

Summer Teaching Fellow

June 2019 - August 2019 New York City, NY
“I love being able to work in New York for a summer. It was such an amazing opportunity, especially since this was a junior program, I only was able to have this opportunity once in my career. It opened my eyes to see that there is so much world out there to see and experience, that when I graduate, I want to be able to work outside of Wisconsin. ”
